SUMMARY
‘Platypus Futures’ is a project dedicated to the preservation and protection of one of Australia's most unique and enigmatic species.
Born out of a collaboration between passionate individuals, conservationists, and dedicated researchers, this campaign is a rallying call for change and a celebration of the intrinsic value of biodiversity.
Katherine Warwick, a PhD candidate at Western Sydney University, is at the centre of the campaign. Warwick's focus lies in platypus conservation within the Hawkesbury-Nepean River catchment, examining the effects of contaminants in aquatic ecosystems.
This project shines a spotlight on her latest discoveries, research process and key findings. Through education and community engagement, ‘Platypus Futures’ endeavours to aid in securing a brighter future for our Australian icon.
